Berry Culture Co., Ltd. is developing ‘Meet Your Store’ BerryStore, an application that receives cherished items and talent from celebrities, YouTubers, and other famous figures and sells them through various events, while donating a portion of the proceeds to places of need. As a ‘kind’ app that allows stars and fans to enjoy together and donate, it is receiving great responses from users around fandoms.
A BerryStore representative revealed, “We provide an experience for celebrities to donate without any burden of high-priced items or cash, and fans to purchase various goods donated by their favorite celebrities, such as cherished items, congratulatory song tickets, meal tickets, which will soon become donations. We are creating an easy and enjoyable donation culture.”
On January 31, the ensemble worn by BTS in their “Dynamite” music video was auctioned off for a total of $162,500 (about ₩180 million) at an online auction of America’s Julien’s Auctions, drawing significant attention. Recently, the interest around the donation culture is increasingly on ‘how you donate, not how much you donate’ to the extent that the new word “funation (fun+donation)” was born, thus the interest in BerryStore, which allows you to easily and enjoyable donate, has also grown.
In particular, BerryStore, which uses blockchain technology for transparent donation use, is praised for having solved embezzlement issues surrounding donations since it reveals all donation delivery processes with data that cannot be manipulated.
BerryStore is expanding its infrastructure by signing business agreements with various cultural organizations, such as the Motion Pictures Association of Korea and Korea Entertainment Producer’s Association, leading up to its official opening. In addition, the company is accelerating the final stage of the opening preparation by holding various funation events that anyone can easily and enjoyably participate in without any burden, from game-type events that can be easily enjoyed every day in the app to entry-type/participation-type events and donation projects.

It plans to implement actual instances of blockchain that people can experience in the following areas within the next one to two years. As a result, the number of blockchain-based donation platforms is increasing, making it more important to distinguish between the good and the bad.
