Andre Kim’s Fashion Brand ‘Design Atelier’ tailored suit auctioned at Berrystore
A tailored suit for men’s wear designed at Andre Kim’s ‘Design Atelier’ was auctioned off on October 4 on the Berrystore App. The successful bidder will visit Andre Kim’s “Design Atelier” studio to measure his size, select the fabric and style he wants, and design a men’s suit.
Andre Kim has led the fashion industry in South Korea since the 1960s by creating a whirlwind in Korea. Although he was 75 years old in 2010, he often appeared at prestigious fashion shows and awards ceremonies, and died on August 12, 2010.
After his death at the age of 74, he was awarded the Gold Crown Order of Culture, and some even said that his death left the Korean fashion world empty.
The design studio was founded by the late Andre Kim, a world-renowned fashion designer, and his son, Kim Joong-do, is now leading the brand to take a new leap forward.
When Lim Mi-sook and Kim Hak-rae appeared on the variety TV show “Can’t Be №1,” which aired on November 8, 2020, Lim Mi-sook said, “I was scolded by my husband because I threw away the clothes that Andre Kim gave me.”
Kim Joong-do, CEO of the design studio, said, “My father was a very friendly person during his lifetime, and he did a lot of good deeds and donations, and I want to create opportunities to continue donating and doing good deeds. We hope that many people will participate in the donation and good deeds of the Berrystore,” he said.
Kim Joong-do, the head of the design studio, donated under the name of his father, and his son, Kim Joong-do, became the 993rd member of the Honor Society.
